Michael Noriega is a highly experienced and successful immigration lawyer. He has been representing clients throughout NJ successfully for more than a decade. He is passionate about protecting the rights and interests of individuals who are seeking to remain in the United States to make a better life for themselves and their families.

Given the option to practice any number of types of law, Noriega chose immigration because he has seen the trials and tribulations non-Americans face when trying to deal with the US immigration system and the Board of Immigration Appeals. He believes that each and every person deserves a chance to obtain a Green Card or a visa if they desire. Further, when residency is at risk and deportation is a real possibility, Noriega wants the community to know he is a resource for sound legal representation.

He is tri-lingual (English, Spanish and Portuguese) and offers free consultations regarding immigration matters to residents throughout New Jersey. Whether your issue is in regard to deportation defense, challenges in obtaining a non-immigrant visa, pursuing an application for a Green Card or any other immigration-related matter, you need a lawyer who understands the very real concerns you are facing. Noriega will fight tirelessly to protect your interests and those of your family members.

Immigration laws are complex and changing all the time. Noriega stays ahead of the trends and keeps his finger on the pulse of evolving immigration laws. This commitment to his practice, combined with his many years of experience fighting for the rights of the immigrant community in New Jersey, makes him a go-to resource for anyone with a question or concern about an immigration-related matter.

Prior to starting his own firm in 2009, Noriega worked in the Essex County Adult Trial Region from 2003-2008 as an assistant deputy public defender. He is a skilled and successful criminal defense lawyer who handled all types of cases from drug charges, weapons possession issues to robbery and murder. Sometimes, a criminal charge can set in motion deportation proceedings which is why Noriega became committed to helping out the immigrant community in North Jersey, regardless of the legal issues they face.

He is a skilled negotiator and tough litigator who always puts his clients first. He listens and guides clients and their parents through the legal process which can often be frightening – especially for those who do not speak English well. He is licensed to practice law in New Jersey, New York and in both the Federal District of NJ and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Outside of court, Noriega can frequently be seen on the campus of Seton Hall University School of Law, where he has been an adjunct professor for more than eight years. He is also a frequent lecturer on the topic of criminal immigration matters. Ever committed to the community he serves, he also volunteers to speak to undocumented people about current immigration laws.

He was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2013.
